If your home has 1 sq.m. of free space — no more than the footprint of a wardrobe — you can still install a lift. It may sound hard to believe, but the smallest home lift we offer has a standing area, or platform, of just 600×830 mm. Sadly, many people living in smaller homes with limited space assume there is simply no room for a home lift. You can browse the full Cibes home lift range at Home Lift
A High-Performance, Highly Space-Saving Lift for Your Home
The Cibes Platform Home Lift is exceptionally space-efficient.
- Makes the most of every square metre: it fits into small, narrow spaces such as the opening in the middle of a staircase
- Saves space on the lowest floor: our lifts install with no pit excavation for the lift stop which saves 1.4 metres on average
- Saves space on the top floor: our lifts need no machine room, so they take up very little headroom (the height between the top floor and the ceiling) — only 2.3 metres if you want a full-height door, saving around 1.3-3.3 metres
This smart, space-saving design makes fitting a lift into your home straightforward, because no major structural alterations are needed.

What If There Is No Room for a Lift Inside Your Home?
If you would rather not give up space inside your home, or there is no suitable spot for an indoor lift, installing your lift outdoors works just as well. A home lift placed directly outside the house also gives you easy, direct access to the garden and connects your indoor and outdoor living areas. Our outdoor home lifts stand up to all kinds of weather, from heat and strong sunlight to rain. If this type of lift interests you, you can view installation cases at Outdoor Home Lift
How Much Space to Prepare for a Lift

Cibes home lift dimensions compared with hydraulic and traction lifts
How much space you need to set aside depends on the type of lift and the size you choose.
- If you have 1 sq.m. of free space, you already have enough room for a lift in your home. Our smallest home lift has a standing area, or platform, of 600×830 mm (width x depth) and an overall footprint of 1,000×993 mm (including the door and shaft), which is no bigger than a wardrobe
- If you need a larger lift our biggest goods lift has a standing area, or platform, of 1,405×2,480 mm (width x depth) and an overall footprint of 1,895×2,610 mm. A lift that size needs almost 5 sq.m. which is big enough to take a trolley carrying a 1,000 kg load, or around 8-10 people
- All our home lifts run on a screw drive, which means the machinery fits neatly inside the shaft (because the motor is smaller). This compact drive system is also what gives you the space savings described above
- Needs only 2.3 metres of headroom, so no space is lost overhead to a machine room
- No pit excavation when an access ramp is used, or a floor recess of just 130 mm if you prefer no ramp
Whichever model and size you choose, our lifts save a great deal of space compared with conventional lifts. On our platform lifts, the standing area accounts for up to 70% of the total lift footprint, while the machinery and shaft structure take up only 30%.
